One of the business shows I watched this weekend, had a brief segment with Rebecca Walser, CEO of Walser Wealth Management and tax attorney, pointed out the the Congressional Budget office pointed out the 60M boomers wage earners would retire between 2020 and 2030. The result is the average tax rate will have to go from 25% to 63% just to get enough income to pay for current and projected spending. If a new program(s) are added it will be worse for everyone, not the just 1% tax increase on the rich some claim.

He has a new book out called “The IRA and Retirement Plan Owner’s Guide to Beating the New Death Tax.” Based on my reading, the insurance companies did not like the competition of the stretch IRA and with all their money purchased enough congressional representatives to kill it.
